said Samuel B. Smith the full amount of said note together with the interest
according to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void else to remain in
full force and virtue. And it is hereby agreed that should it become necessary to
enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the said Smith & Dexter will pay
therefor all Attorneys fees charges and expenses. In Witness Whereof we hereunto

      County of Alachua } Know all men by these presents that
whereas W.J. Smith & Frank Dexter partners doing business under the
firm name of Smith & Dexter of above state and County are indebted to George
A. Atwood of the State of Rhode Island and County of Providence in the
sum of Five Hundred dollars lawful money of the United States which
said sum is expressed in one certain promissory note bearing date
June 28th 1886 and for the said sum of Five Hundred dollars and
falling due on Dec 29th AD 1886 with interest at 10% per annum
now therefore to better secure said George A. Atwood in full
payment of said note and interest as expressed we do by these
presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said George A. Atwood
heirs and assigns all my right title interest claim One Erie
Engine and Boiler one No (1) Lane Mill with Disston saw one swing
cutoff saw one Crate Machine one planer together with all the
Shafting pulleys and belts for the operation of said machines and
all tools of whatever kind and all lumber now sawed and stacked
at our mill Lot at Orange Lane near Hawthorn Alachua County
