property above bargained and sold unto the said George A. Atwood his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever Provided nevertheless that if the said Smith & Dexter
should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said George A. Atwood the
full amount of said note together to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further
agreed that should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said Smith & Dexter will pay therefor all attorney's fees charges and expenses

           State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that whereas
          Alachua County    } J.M. Vanlandingham of the above State and
County is indebted to T.B. Tillis of the same State and County in the sum
of One Hundred & Fifty Dollars which the said sum is Covenanted to be paid
on or before Dec 1st 1885 and for the said sum of one hundred & Fifty dollars
bearing interest at the rate of 10 per cent per annum said debt is for Merchandise
and this Mortgage is to include any further advances made to said J.M.
Vanlandingham Now therefore to better secure the payment of said
account and interest as expressed therein I do by these presents grant
bargain sell and convey unto the said T.B. Tillis his heirs and assigns all
my right title interest and claim of in and to all crops of whatsoever species
kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be planted
grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and
all lands in Alachua County Florida also the following described
property to wit One Bay mare named Polly about four years old
also one bay horse named Joe about five years old To have and
to hold all and singular the crops lands and personal property above
