G.D. Younglove }

State of Florida  } Know all men by these presents that whereas I Ephraim
County of Alachua } Wood of above State and County is indebted to G.D. Younglove
of the same State and County in the sum of Four Hundred & fifty 90/100 dollars lawful 
money of the United States which said sum is expressed in one certain promis
sory note bearing date January 4th 1887 and for the said sum of Four Hund-
red & fifty 90/100 dollars and falling due on 1st of September AD 1887
with interest at one per cent per month. Now therefore to better secure said 
G.D. Younglove in full payment of said note and interest as Expressed 
I do by these presents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said G.D.
Younglove his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim 
of in and to all the crops of whatsoever Species Kind or description 
now growing or which may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by
me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands in Ala=
=chua County Florida, Also the following described property to wit, One (1)
Gray mule (5) five years old & one Bay mule Eight years old this day to said
Woods, It is understood and agreed that I shall plant and cultivate all
crops planted this year 1887 for G.D. Younglove for advances made to enable
me to plant and Cultivate said crops. To have and to Hold all and Sin=
gular the crops and personal property above bargained and sold unto the 
said G.D. Younglove his heirs Executors administrators and assigns for=
ever, Provided nevertheless that if the said Ephraim Wood should well 
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said G.D. Younglove the full 
amount of said note together with the interest according to its tenor and 
effect then this instrument to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue
And it is hereby further agreed that should it become necessary to en=
force this instrument by legal proceedings the said Ephraim Wood will 
pay therefor all attorneys fees charges and Expenses. In Witness whereof 
I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this (4th) Fourth day of January AD 1887

Alachua County   } says that he saw Ephraim Wood sign seal and deliver the 
foregoing instrument of writing for the uses and the purposes therein contained
