State of Florida  } Know all men by these presents That whereas William
County of Alachua } H. Adams of above State and County is indebted to James
R. Crawford of the same State and County in the sum of One hundred & Seventy
five dollars lawful money of the United States which said Sum is Expressed in 
one certain promissory note bearing date January 22th 1887 and for the said 
Sum of one hundred and Seventy five dollars and falling due on November
first AD 1887 with interest at 10 per cent, Now therefore to better secure said 
James R. Crawford in full payment of said note and interest as Expressed
I do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said James R.
Crawford his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim of in and
to all the Crops of whatsoever species Kind or description now growing or
which may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for me
or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County
Florida: Also the following described property to wit: Also one stock of
Cattle running and ranging in Alachua County Florida marked Crop
half crop in one Ear, and two underbits in the other, branded H.A. Also
one Bay horse Gelding named Jim age 5 Years, To have and to Hold all and 
Singular the Crops and personal property above bargained and sold unto the 
said James R. Crawford his Executors administrators and assigns forever. Provi
ded nevertheless that if the said William H. Adams should well and truly 
pay or cause to be paid unto the Said James R. Crawford the full amount 
of said note, together with the interest according to its tenor and effect then 
this instrument to be void, Else to remain in full force and virtue
And it is hereby further agreed that Should it become necessary to 
Enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the said William H. Adams
will pay therefor all attorneys fees Charges and expenses. In Witness
Whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 22 day 
of January AD 1887
