State of Florida  } Know all men by these presents, That whereas Henry Willis
County of Alachua } of above State and County is indebted to W.T. May of the same
State and County in the sum of Forty Dollars lawful money of the United States
which said Sum is expressed in one certain promissory note bearing date Jan
17th 1887 and for the Said Sum of Forty dollars and falling due on Oct 1st AD
1887 with interest at 20 per cent, Now therefore to better secure said W.T. May
in full payment of said note and interest as Expressed I do by these presents
grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said W.T. May his heirs and assigns all
my right title interest and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species
Kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be planted grown or
gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands in
Alachua County Florida: Also the following described property to wit:
To have and to hold all and singular the crops and personal property above
bargained and sold unto the said W.T. May his heirs Executors administrators
and assigns forever. Provided nevertheless, that if the said Henry Willis Should
well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said W.T. May the full amount
of said note together with the interest according to its tenor and effect then this
instrument to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue, and it is here
by further agreed that should it become necessary to enforce this instrument
by legal proceedings the said Henry Willis will pay therefor all attorneys
fees charges and Expenses, In Witness Whereof I hereunto set my hand and
affix my seal this 17th day of Jan AD 1887                 his
