The State of Florida } Know all men by these presents that I Richard
  Alachua County     } Martin of the County of Alachua and State of
Florida am justly indebted to Charles W. Bauknight (merchant) of the Town of
Archer County and State aforesaid in the sum of Twenty Five Dollars ($2500)
which said sum I promise to pay on the first day of October AD 1887, Now for
the better security of the payment of said amount at the time specified I do
by these presents bargain sell deliver and convey unto the said Charles W. Bauk
night all my right title interest and claim to all crops of every Kind and
description planted and cultivated by me or for me or for my benefit on or off
of lands in Alachua County Florida for the year Eighteen hundred and Eighty
seven, and all subsequent years until the full amount of said indebtedness is
fully paid including all interest which I hereby agree to pay, Also one dark
bay Texas mare about seven years old named Sallie. To have and to
Hold the above described Crops and personal property unto the said Charles
W. Bauknight his heirs executors administrators and assigns as his
and their absolute property in fee simple forever, warranted free from all
incumbrances and I further agree to pay any further indebtedness that may
be contracted by me or through me with the said Charles W. Bauknight the
Ensuing year. Provided nevertheless the within is considered in the nature
of a statutory Lien or mortgage for the identical purpose of securing
to the said Charles W. Bauknight his heirs or assigns the full payment
of all indebtedness due to the said Charles W. Bauknight at the time Express
ed, and in default of said payment on demand the said Charles W. Bauk
night his heirs or assigns are hereby empowered to foreclose said mort
gage according to law and collect the amount due him and I hereby agree
to pay all attorney's fees and Expenses in said foreclosure hereby waiving
the benefit of all homestead and Exemption laws of Florida binding said
property as if no such law Existed. In witness whereof, I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this the 19th day of February AD 1887
