State of Florida  } Know all men by these presents That whereas Mitchell
County of Alachua } Hills of above State and County is indebted to
H.C. Parker of the same State and County in the sum of One Thirty four and
68/100 dollars lawful money of the United States which said sum is Expressed
in one certain promissory note bearing date January 26th 1887 and for the
said sum one one Thirty four and 68/100 dollars and falling due on
October first AD 1887 with interest at one pr ¢ pr month from date. Now
therefore to better secure said H.C. Parker in full payment of said Note 
and interest as Expressed I do by these presents grant bargain sell 
and Convey unto the said H.C. Parker his heirs and assigns all my 
right title interest and Claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever 
species Kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be 
planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or
off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the following 
described property to wit: One Black Mare mule named Beck about 
Eleven years old, One sorrel Horse mule named Jack about Eleven years
old One Dark Bay mair about seven years old named Fly, one
Dark Bay Colt about Two Years old named Daisy, To have and 
to Hold all and singular the Crops and personal property above bar
gained and Sold unto the said H.C. Parker his heirs Executors Adminis
trators and assigns forever: Provided nevertheless that if the said Mitch
Ell Hills should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said 
H.C. Parker the full amount of said note together with the interest ac
cording to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void Else 
to remain in full force and virtue, and it is hereby further agreed that 
should it become Necessary to Enforce this instrument by legal pro
ceedings the said Mitchell Hills will pay therefor all attorneys fees 
Charges and Expenses. In Witness Whereof I hereunto set my hand 
and affix my seal this 26th day of January AD 1887
