State of Florida  } Know all men by these Presents that whereas Friday
County of Alachua } Andrews of the above State and County is indebted to 
Nathan C. Pettit Administrator Estate Truman Doane of the same State 
and County in the sum of One hundred fifty five and 51/100 dollars which
Said Sum is covenanted to be Paid by one certain promissory note bearing date 
March 11th AD 1887 and for the said sum of One hundred fifty five & 51/100
dollars bearing interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum, Now therefore 
to better secure the payment of said note and interest as expressed therein
I do by these presents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said Nathan
C. Pettit his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim of in and 
to all Crops of whatsoever Species Kind or description now growing or which 
may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit 
on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. And also the 
following described property to wit: One dark Chestnut Stallion Horse about
Six years old named "Zero", Also one Horse Cart and Two (2) Head of Cows
and their increase, marked with smooth Crop with upper and under bit
in one ear, And Smooth Crop and Split in the other ear, Branded (F) for
Friday, To Have and to Hold all and singular the Crops lands and per-
sonal property above bargained and sold unto the said Leander C. Doane
his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever, Provided nevertheless 
that if the said Friday Andrews should well and truly pay or cause to be 
paid unto the said Nathan C. Pettit the full amount of said note together
with the interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument 
to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby
further agreed, that should it become necessary to enforce this instrument 
by legal proceedings the said Friday Andrews will pay therefor all 
Attorneys fees and Expenses, In witness whereof I hereunto set 
my hand and affix my seal the Eleventh day of March AD 1887
