      State of Florida  } Know all men by these presents that Whereas
      County of Alachua } Vick Lang of above State and County is
indebted to A.J. DaCosta of the same State and County in the sum of
Sixty Six & 50/100 dollars lawful money of the United States which said
Sum is expressed in one certain promissory note bearing date September
13th 1885 and for the said Sum of Sixty Six & 50/100 dollars and falling
due 1st of July AD 1886 with interest at 8 per cent per Annum Now
therefore to better secure said A.J. DaCosta in full payment
of said note and interest as expressed I do by these presents
grant bargain sell and convey unto the said A.J. DaCosta his
heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim if in and
to the following described property to wit: One Sorrel Horse
about Five Years old named Charley. To Have and to Hold all
and singular the personal property above bargained and sold
unto the said A.J. DaCosta his heirs executors administrators
and assigns forever Provided nevertheless that if the said Vick
Lang should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the
said A.J. DaCosta the full amount of said note together with
the interest according to its tenor and effect then this
instrument to be void else to remain in full force and virtue
and it is hereby further agreed that should it become
necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the
said Vick Lang will pay therefor all Attorneys fees charges and
