Alachua County } Know all men by these presents, that whereas Benjamin
Roberts and Elizabeth Roberts his wife of the above State and County is
indebted to Leander C. Doane of the same State and County in the sum
of Twenty Two and 74/100 dollars which said Sum is covenanted to be
paid by one Certain promissory note bearing date Jan 28th AD 1887
and for the said sum of Twenty Two and 74/100 dollars bearing interest
at the rate of ten per Cent per annum from Jan 1 AD 1884 until
fully paid, Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note
and interest as Expressed therein, we do by these presents Grant bargain
sell and Convey unto the said Leander C. Doane his heirs and assigns
all my right title interest and Claim of in and to all Crops of what
soever Species Kind or description now growing or which may hereafter
be Planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on
or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida Also the follow
ing described property to wit: One one horse cart without body
One one horse buggy, all now in our possession, To have and to
hold, All and Singular the Crops lands and personal property above
bargained and Sold unto the said Leander C. Doane heirs Executors
administrators and assigns forever, Provided nevertheless that
if the said Benjamin Roberts and Elizabeth Roberts should well
and truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the said Leander C. Doane
full amount of said note together with the interest according
to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void else to
remain in full force and virtue, and it is hereby further agreed
that should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal
proceedings the said Benjamin Roberts & Elizabeth Roberts will pay
therefor all attorneys fees and Expenses, In witness whereof we
have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this twenty Eighth day of
January AD 1887 his
