State of Florida }  Know all men by these presents, That whereas Jerry
Alachua County   }  Robinson of above State and County is indebted to Nathan 
C. Pettit of the same State and County in the sum of One hundred twenty
four 19/100 dollars which said Sum is covenanted to be paid by one Certain 
promissory note bearing date February 5th AD 1887 and for the said 
Sum of One Hundred twenty four 19/100 dollars bearing interest at the rate 
of ten per Cent per annum until paid: Now therefore to better Secure 
the payment of said note and interest as expressed therein I do by these 
presents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said Nathan C. Pettit his 
heirs and assigns all my right title interest and Claim of in and to all 
Crops of whatsoever Species Kind or description now growing or which 
may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for 
my benefit on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County 
Florida: Also the following described property to wit: One light
Bay mare about 8 Years old name "Nellie", This is my first Mortgage
ever given to any person or persons on the above described property
To have and to hold all and singular the Crops lands and person
al property above bargained and sold the said Nathan C. Pettit
his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever. Provided never
theless that if the said Jerry Robinson Should well and truly 
pay or cause to be paid unto the said Nathan C. Pettit the 
full amount of said note, together with the interest according to 
its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void, else 
to remain in full force and virtue, And it is hereby
further agreed, that should it become necessary to enforce 
this instrument by legal proceedings the said Jerry
Robinson will pay therefor all attorneys fees and Expenses
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my 
Seal this Fifth day of February AD 1887                             his
