the said Anthony J. Trapp should well and truly pay or cause to be paid 
unto the said J.I. Griffin the full amount of said note together with the 
according to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void 
Else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed 
that should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal 
proceedings the said Anthony J. Trapp will pay therefor all attorneys 
fees Charges and Expenses, In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and 
affix my seal this 23rd day of Feb AD 1887

 State of Florida } Know all men by these presents, That whereas 
 Alachua County   } B.P. Perkins of above State and County is indebted 
to to J.I. Griffin of the same State and County in the sum of forty
lawful money of the United States which said sum is Expressed in  
one Certain promissory note bearing date Feb 10th and for the said
sum of forty dollars and falling due on the 15th Oct AD 1887 with
interest at 8 per cent Now therefore to better secure said J.I. Griffin in 
full payment of said Note and interest as Expressed do by these pres
ents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said J.I. Griffin heirs and 
assigns all my right title interest and claim of in and to all the crops of 
whatsoever species Kind or description now growing or which may here
after be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit 
on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the 
following described property to wit: One bay horse three years old
name Charlie: To have and to hold all and singular the crops and 
personal property above bargained and sold unto the said J.I. Griffin 
heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever. Provided nevertheless 
that if the said B.P. Perkins should well and truly pay or cause to be 
paid unto the said J.I. Griffin the full amount of said note together 
with the interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument 
to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby
