State of Florida  } Know all men by these Presents that whereas J.W. Ford
County of Alachua } of above State and County is indebted to W.H. Pratt of the 
same State and County in the sum of Sixty dollars lawful money of the United 
States which said sum is expressed in one certain promissory note bearing 
date April 16 and for the said sum of Sixty dollars and falling due on 
December 1st AD 1887 with interest at 15 pr ct Now therefore to better Secure 
said W.H. Pratt in full payment of said note and interest as Expressed I do 
by these presents grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said W.H. Pratt his 
heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim of in and to all the 
Crops of whatsoever Species Kind or description now growing or which may here
after be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit 
on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the follow
ing described property to wit: One dark Bay horse said to be Eight years
old & called Celim also one horse wagon. To have and to hold all 
and singular the Crops and personal property above bargained and sold 
unto the said W.H. Pratt his heirs executors administrators and assigns 
forever. Provided nevertheless that if the said J.W. Ford should well 
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said W.H. Pratt the full amount 
of said note together with the interest according to its tenor and effect 
then this instrument to be void else to remain in full force and virtue
And it is hereby further agreed that should it become necessary to enforce 
this instrument by legal proceedings the said J.W. Ford will pay there
for all attorneys fees Charges and expenses. In Witness Whereof I 
hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 16th day of April AD 1887
