      County of Alachua } Know all men by these presents that whereas
W.S. Gentry of above State and County is indebted to Mayfield & Sewell of the same State
and County in the Sum of one hundred & twenty five dollars lawful money of the
United States which said sum is expressed in one certain promissory note bearing
date with this Mortgage and for the said sum of one hundred & twenty five dollars
and falling due on 20th of June AD 1886 with interest at 12% per annum Now
therefore to better secure said Mayfield & Sewell in full payment of said
note and interest as express I do by these presents grant bargain sell
and convey unto the said Mayfield & Sewell heirs and assigns all my right
title interest and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species
kind or description now growing or which may hereafter be planted grown
or gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and
all lands in Alachua County Florida Also the following described
property to wit: one large Bay Mare name Kate about twelve years
old Known as the Parker mare I this day traded for from R.T. Carter also one
one horse wagon & Harness To have and to hold all and singular the crops
and personal property above bargained and sold unto the said
Mayfield & Sewell heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
Provided nevertheless that if the said M.S. Gentry should well and truly
pay or cause to be paid unto the said Mayfield & Sewell the full amount
of said note together with the interest according to its tenor and effect
then this instrument to be void else to remain in full force and virtue
and it is hereby further agreed that should it become necessary to enforce this
instrument by legal proceedings the said W.S. Gentry will pay therefor
all attorneys fees charges and expenses. In Witness Whereof I hereunto
set my hand and affix my seal this 5th Fifth day of June
