W.J. Epperson }
This Indenture made and entered into on this 27th day of April AD 
1887 between J.C. Hopkins of the County of Alachua and State of Florida
party of the first part and William J. Epperson of the County of Levy
and State of Florida of the second part, Witnesseth, That whereas the party
of the second part has agreed to advance to the party of the first part in
goods wares merchandise and money not to exceed the sum of Fifty
Dollars during the Year 1887 at such times as the party of the first
part may need them to enable him to make gather and market his
Crops the present Year, Now for the purpose of securing the said party
of the second part in payment of all such supplies as may be furnish
ed me in accordance with the above agreement^ and in Consideration
of one dollar to me paid. I have given granted bargained sold and
Conveyed and do hereby give grant bargain sell convey and Confirm
unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever
the following described property to wit, All the Crops of every nature
Kind and description that I may grow on any place the present
Year or that may be grown for me or for my benefit and the
Crops that I may grow in future till the amount hereby intined
to be secured is paid in full. Also one Sorrel horse about
ten years old named Charlie. The above amount or so much
thereof as may be advanced to become due Nov 15th 1887
To have and to hold the same unto the said party of the second
part his heirs and assigns forever, Provided and these presents are
upon this express condition that if the said party of the first
part shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the party
of the second part in full for all moneys or merchandise that
may have been advanced by him during the Current year, then
in that event these presents are to be null and void: otherwise
to remain in full force and effect. I further agree to pay all
Costs of Court and reasonable Attorneys fees in case the party of
the second part may be put to the necessity of Collecting the Same
by the foreclosure of this Mortgage, In Testimony whereof I 
have hereunto set my hand and seal this the day and Year first above written

State of Florida } On this day before me a Clerk of the Circuit Court
Levy County      } in and for said County in person came J.C. Hopkins
to me well known who acknowledged that he executed the foregoing
Mortgage for the purposes therein Expressed whereupon it is prayed that
the same may be recorded. In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set
my hand and official seal this the 27th day of April AD 1887
