This Indenture made and entered into on this 8th day of April AD 
1887 between Henry B. King of the County of Alachua and State of Florida
party of the first part and Wm J. Epperson of the County of Levy and State 
of Florida of the second part. Witnesseth that whereas the party of 
the First Part is justly indebted to the party of the Second part in the sum
of Two Hundred Dollars as is evidenced by his Certain promissory
note of even date herewith and due and payable on the 15th day of
November AD 1887. Now for the purpose of securing the prompt payment
of the sum of money mentioned in the above described note with the
accrued interest and for the further Consideration of the sum of
one Dollar lawful money of the United States of America to me
in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. I have given granted 
Bargained Sold and Conveyed and by these presents do Give Grant 
Bargain Sell convey and Confirm unto the said party of the second 
part his heirs and assigns the following described, One Sorrel 
mare about Eight years old named Doll formerly owned
by W.J. Jones, also all the Crops of every nature and description
that I may grow or cause to be grown in Alachua County during
the Year 1887, and all future years until the above amount
is paid in full, Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in
anywise appertaining. To have and to hold, The above described
and hereby granted and Conveyed property unto the said party 
of the second part his heirs Executors administrators and assigns 
for their own benefit and behoof forever, Provided and these 
presents are upon this express condition that if the said party of 
the First part his heirs or assigns shall promptly and fully
pay the sum of money mentioned in the above described note
at the time and in the manner specified according to the tenor
and effect thereof, then in that event these presents are to be
absolutely null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and 
effect. The Party of the First Part further agrees and hereby binds
himself his heirs executors and administrators to pay all
Costs of Court and reasonable Attorneys fees in the event the party 
of the second part is forced to collect the above mentioned sum
of money by the foreclosure of this Mortgage. In Testimony 
Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the day 
and Year above written
