State of Florida } Know all men by these Presents that whereas Ed C.
County of Alachua } Smith of above State and County is indebted to Margaret
Margaret J. Strous of the same State and County in the Sum of Two hundred & fifty
dollars lawful money of the United States which said sum is expressed in
one certain promissory note bearing date July 27 1886 and for the said sum of
Two hundred & Fifty dollars and falling due on Aug 27 AD 1886 with interest at
2 1/2% per mo Now therefore to better secure said Margaret J. Strous in full payment
of said note and interest as expressed I do by these presents grant bargain sell and
convey unto the said Margaret J. Strous her heirs and assigns all my right title
interest and claim of in and to all the following described property to wit (1) one
Generator & Two (2) Cilinders (1) one Bottling machine and a lot of Empty Bottles
and cases which includes also all the apparatus for the bottling of Soda
water this day sold to me To Have and to Hold all and singular the personal
property above bargained and sold unto the said Margaret J. Strous her heirs
executors administrators and assigns forever Provided nevertheless that if the
said Ed C. Smith should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the
said Margaret J. Strous the full amount of said note together with the
interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void
else to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed that
should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said Ed C. Smith will pay therefor all attorneys fees charges and
Expenses In Witness Whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my
Seal this 27th day of July AD 1886
