   Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that whereas I John
Sweat of above State and County and Justly indebted to T.N. Smith
of the same State & County in the sum of Sixty five 75/100 (65.75) Dollars
which said sum is Expressed in 3 certain promissory notes bearing
date & interest at the rate of 10 per ct as hereinafter mentioned & described
1st one Note for the sum of $25.75 dated July 19, 1886 & Due September 19, 1886
with interest from date at the rate of 10 perc per annum Till paid
2nd One note for the sum of $20.00 Dated July 19, 1886 & due September 19
1886 with interest from Aug 19, 1886 at the rate of 10 per ct per Annum
till paid
3rd one note for the sum of $20.00 dated July 19, 1886 & due September
19 1886 without interest till maturity After maturity at the rate of
10 per ct per Annum till paid. Now therefore to better secure said
T.N. Smith in full payment of said notes & interest as expressed
I do by these presents grant bargain sell & convey unto the said
T.N. Smith his heirs & assigns all my right title & interest & claim of
in & to the following described personal property to wit: 1 set furniture
20 chairs 6 Bedstead 4 Wash Stands 6 Mattresses 5 Sets bed Springs
4 Pillows 1 cooking Stove 1 Parlor table 1 Dining Table said furniture
now in & to remain in dwelling house now occupied by me but owned
by said T.N. Smith & this mortgage is made & intended to secure the
said T.N. Smith in full payment of Rent now due & to become due by me
to him said house situated in City of Gainesville & on the East side
of West main street in said City To have and to hold all and singular
the personal property above bargained & Sold unto the said T.N.
Smith his heirs exrs administrators & assigns forever Provided
nevertheless that if the said John Sweat should well & truly pay or
cause to be paid unto the said T.N. Smith the full amount of said
notes together with the interest according to its tenor & Effect
then this instrument to be void else to remain in full force
& virtue and it is hereby further agreed that should it become
necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the
said John Sweat will pay therefor all Attorneys fees charges & Expenses
