heard, Syd L. Carter State Attorney and M.M. Allred As-
sistant state attorney prosecuting in the name and by the
authority of the State of Florida, and the prisoner William
G. Shehee being in open court in his proper person as well
as by his attorney's R.W. Davis, B.A. Thrasher, and Evans Haile
Esqrs, and also the jury who had heard part of the evidence
in this cause on yesterday to-wit, R.M. Jennings, Frank Boals
J.C. Baxley, D.A. Miller, J.H. Hines, H.B. Hague, M.L. McComb,
T.G. Hogan, J.J. Colson, R.L. Polk, C.W. Bauknight &
W.B. Riviere being likewise in open court the hearing of
this cause was resumed, and the jury aforesaid after hearing
the balance of the evidence, the arguments Counsel and charge
of the Court retired to consider of their verdict and afterwards
on the same day they returned into open court and rendered
the following verdict to-wit:
 We the jury, find William G. Shehee, the defendant, not
guilty
                     C.W. Bauknight,
                             Foreman
Whereupon the defendant was discharged from custody.
Whereupon Court adjourned until to-morrow morning
at 9 o'clock,

               Thursday May 27/1897,

The Court met pursuant to adjournment of yesterday, His
Hon, W.A. Hocker, Judge, presiding.
M.F. Simmons }
     vs      } Assumpsit
Herman Levy  } Motion to set aside verdict and for new trial.
          And now comes the defendant by his attor-
ney E.C.F. Sanchez, and moves the Court to set aside the verdict
rendered herein and for a new trial,
And now said motion having been submitted to the Court,
and argument had thereon, and the Court being advised in the
premises, doth decide and order that said motion be and the
same is hereby overruled and denied, to which ruling and order
of the Court, the defendant by his attorney then and there excepts,
It is further ordered by the Court that the defendant be allowed,
Sixty days to prepare and settle bill of exceptions,

State of Florida }
       vs        } Being Accessory after the fact to
J.A. McCraven    }         Murder,
            And now this cause s nol prossed,
