On the 11th Apl, 1849 personally appeared
before me Gad Humphreys a Justice of the Peace in and for
said county Fredrick Maquand to me well known and ac-
knowledged that he had executed the instruments by him
signed for the purposes therein set forth

nowledged that she had executed the said power of atty. signed
by here for the purposes therein set forth

Know all men by these presents that we Hephzebah E
Taylor widow of William Taylor deceased Mary C. Taylor and
Erastus Joice guardian of the person and estate of William
H. Taylor, Thomas J. Taylor & Emma E. Taylor children of said
Hephzebah of the City County & State of New York have
made constituted and appointed and by these presents do make
constitute and appoint Theodore Baily Myers of the said city
councillor at law our true and lawful attorney for us and
in our names place and stead to attend the sale of certin
premises to be sold in partition under the direct order of the Circuit
Court of St Johns County in the case of Prall and others against
Brush in which we are defendants and parties interest in 
interest so decreed under a former decree made in said case
the said sale being ordered to be made as the Town of Micanopy
in Alachua County Florida on the twenty first day of February
next and at such sale to-bid upon such portions of said tracts
as he may consider expedient for us and in our names respectf-
uly and if he sees fit to purchase at said sale any portion
of said tract and to take such steps as may be be necessary
to secure the title of the same as in case he shall consider
it more expediate not to purchase any portion of said land
then and in that case we respectively empower him for us
and in our names respectively to receive from the clerk
of said court from the Commissioners appointed to make
such sale or any other person authorized to make payment
of the same the amount which shall be due to us and ***
