Thomas Douglas
    to                   Release of Mortgage
Moses E. Levy
                                             Know all men by these presents
that I Thomas Douglas of the Town of Jacksonville in the
State of Florida do hereby in consideration of fifteen hundred
dollars in receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged being the  con-
sideration money expressed in a certain deed from Moses E. Levy
to me of even date herewith, hereby release unto said Moses
E. Levy his heirs and assigns forever all right title and interest
in and to twelve hundred acres of land part and parcel
of the grant made to F. M Arredondo & Son on the 22nd day
of December 1817 and described and set forth in a certain
deed of mortgage executed by said Moses E. Levy, party of the
first part, to Thomas Douglas, party of the second part, on the 30th
day of June 1848 and recorded in Marion County Records Oct
8th 1848 in Record of Deeds Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 and which said
last described deed of mortgage I do hereby fully and absolutely
discharge and release.   Witness my hand and seal this 5th day of

            Alachua County.  Personally appeared before me Thomas Douglas
to {me} well known and acknowledged that he had executed
the foregoing release for the purposes therein set forth.  Witness
my hand this 8th May AD  1850.

     This day came before me, Moses E. Levy, in person & Joseph DeLevante, by
   Moses E. Levy his
attorney in fact and Maria Serefina Chaveteau, by Moses E. Levy, her attorney in
   fact and acknowledged,
that they had executed the within instrument of writing for the purposes therein  
   expressed and that execution
thereof was their voluntary act and deed.
      In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal of office 
      at the City of St. Augustine the 19th Day of June AD 1850
