sum of Eight Hundred Dollars to them paid the receipt of
          which is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained and
          sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey
          to the party of the second part all that certain Lot or tract of
          land lying and situate in the Town of Gainesville in the County
          of Alachua in the State of Florida and known and described on
          the Map of said Town of Gainesville as recorded and set forth
          on the record of Deed Book marked and known as Book "H"
          page 383 in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of said
          County of Alachua as Block Seven (7) in Range Eight (8) com-
          mencing at the South East corner of said Lot and running North
          Three Hundred and thirty four (334) feet, Thence West one Hun-
          dred and twenty (120) feet, Thence South Three Hundred and
          Thirty four (334) feet, Thence East to the point of beginning One
          Hundred and twenty (120) feet To Have and to Hold to the par-
          ty of the second part, his heirs and assigns with all the rights
          and privileges thereto pertaining and the parties of the first part
          the party of the second part his heirs and assigns the title to
          the land hereby conveyed shall and will forever warrant and
          defend by these presents, In witness whereof the parties of the first
          part have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and year

          for said County do hereby certify that Thomas L. Carter and
          M.E. Carter grantors in the foregoing Deed to Calvin Gillis
          and both to me personally known appeared before me and
          acknowledged that they had executed the said Deed for the pur-
          pose therein stated and I further certify that the said M.E.
          Carter wife of the said Thomas L. Carter having been by me
          first examined privately separately and apart from her said
          Husband acknowledged to me that she had renounced and relin-
          -quished all her right and title to the lands conveyed in said
          Deed and that she did the same freely and voluntarily and
          without any compulsion constraint apprehension or fear
          of or from her said Husband
