unto the said William Hodg his heirs and assigns all of that certain
lot piece tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the County
of Alachua in the State of Florida particularly known and described as
follows to wit: The South East quarter of Section twenty (20) Township nine
(9) Range Seventeen East (17) containing one hundred and Fifty eight acres
and 2/00 acres more or less containing by estimation 158 acres of land more
or less. Together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments and
appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To Have and Hold
the same unto the the said William Hodg and to his heirs executors
administrators and assigns in fee simple and absolute. And I the said
Nathan Smith do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said William
Hodg that I am lawfully seized in fee of the property herein and hereby
conveyed and that we have good and lawful right to sell and convey the same
that the same is free from all encumbrances of any kind whatsoever and
that I will and my heirs executors and administrators shall and will forever
warrant and defend the same unto the said William Hodg and to his heirs
executors administrators and assigns against the lawful claims and
demands of any and all persons whomsoever now claiming or hereafter to
claim the same. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal on this the 10th day of August AD 1882

Alachua County   } I hereby certify that on this 10 day of August AD 1882 before
me personally appeared Mrs Lucy Smith wife of Nathan Smith the
grantor in the foregoing conveyance who being first duly questioned and
examined by me separate and apart from her said husband says and
acknowledges before me that she did sign the said deed of conveyance for the
purpose of releasing relinquishing and renouncing all of her right of Dower in
and to the land in said deed described and that said relinquishment and renunciation
of Dower was done and made by her freely and voluntarily and without any
compulsion constraint apprehension or fear of or from her said husband
