Linn County   } I George L. Stearns, Clerk of the District Court
in and for said County (a Court of Record using a seal of Office and
having common law jurisdiction) do hereby certify that John E. Kurtz before
whom the foregoing acknowledgement appears to have been made was at
the time of taking the same a legal acting Notary Public within and
for the County of Linn duly commissioned and qualified according to
law and authorized to take acknowledgements and administer oaths
in said County and that I am well acquainted with his hand writing
and verily believe the signature purporting to be his is genuine and
that the same is taken according to the laws of this State
In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and
affixed the seal of said Court at my office in Marion in said County

Application  382              } To all these Presents shall come Greeting
Whereas There has been deposited in the General Land Office of the
United States a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Gaines
ville Florida whereby it appears that pursuant to the act of Congress
approved 20th May 1862, "To secure Homesteads to actual settlers
on the Public Domain", and the Act supplemental thereto the claim
of Celia Andrews has been established and duly consummated in
conformity to law for the North half of the North West quarter of
Section twenty four in Township Seven South of range
nineteen east in the district of lands subject to sale at
Gainesville Florida, containing Seventy-nine acres and ninety
hundredths of an acre, according to the Official Plat of the
Survey of the said Land returned to the General Land Office
by the Surveyor General, Now Know ye That there is therefore
granted by the United States unto the said Celia Andrews
the tract of Land above described, To Have and to Hold
the said tract of land with the appurtenances thereof unto the
said Celia Andrews and to her heirs and assigns forever
In testimony whereof I Rutherford B. Hayes President
of the United States of America have caused these letters
to be made patent and the seal of the General Land Office
to be hereunto affixed, Given under my hand at the
