The Singer Manufacturing Company }
This Indenture made this 4th day of February AD 1887 between Samuel C. Tucker
late Sheriff of Alachua County Florida of the first part and the Singer Manufactu
ring Company a Corporation existing and doing business in the City and State
of New York of the second part. Witnesseth whereas by virtue of a certain execution
addressed to all and singular the Sheriffs of the State of Florida and issuing out
of the Circuit Court of the County of Orange and State of Florida under the signature
and seal of the Clerk of said Court and commanding that of the goods and chattels 
lands and tenements of J.C. Harrison and C.A. Simmons there be made the sum
of Four Hundred seventy seven and 95/100 Dollars together with interest thereon
from the rendition of the Judgement until paid and the costs of said writ, the
said Samuel C. Tucker, late Sheriff of Alachua County did as such Sheriff levy
on and seize all the estate right title and interest which the said C.A. Simmons
so had of in and to the premises herein of the described and on the sixth day
of September AD 1886 sold the said premises at public venue before the Court
House door in the City of Gainesville in the said County of Alachua State of
Florida and having first given public notice of the time and place of such
sale by causing a notice thereof to be published in the Gainesville Daily
news a newspaper published in said County once each day for thirty days
that the said premises would be sold by virtue of said execution on the
6th day of September AD 1886, and whereas the said premises were struck of to
the said Singer Manufacturing Company being the highest bidder there
for and that being the highest sum bid for the same:  Now therefore this
Indenture witnesseth that the said Samuel C. Tucker as party of the
first part by virtue of the said write of Execution directed as aforesaid
and commanding as aforesaid and in pursuance of the Statute in
such cases made and provided and in consideration of the sum of money
so bid as aforesaid and by these presents doth grant and convey to the
party of the second part, all the estate, right title and interest which
the said C.A. Simmons had on the 29th day of March AD 1886
or at any time afterward of in and to all the South 1/2 of Section
Thirty (30) in Township Ten (10) Range Twenty two (22) South and East
containing Three Hundred acres (300) more or less, said land being
apart of the Arredondo Grant and lying and being in Alachua
County Florida, To have and to hold said above mentioned and de
scribed premises unto the said party of the second part in fee
simple forever as fully and absolutely as the said party of the
first part as late Sheriff as aforesaid can convey by virtue
of said writ and the laws relating thereto. In witness whereof
the said late Sheriff Samuel C. Tucker has set his hand and seal
hereto the day and year above first written.
