Will of Josiah M. Croxton
I Josiah M. Croxton a citizen of Alachua County
& State of Florida being advanced in years and
somewhat feeble bodily but of sound mine memory
and discretion do make and declare this to be my
Last Will and testament
In the first place I desire that as soon as con-
venient after my decease my body be intered by my
Executors hereinafter named and all expenses attending
the burial together with what may be due physicians
for attendance during my last illness be paid
It is my desire further that as soon as practicable all my
past debts be paid after my death
In the second place I will and bequeath to my son
James Croxton Two hundred and Eighty eight acres of land
the same being the North half of the plantation on which
I now reside, and in the event of the death of my
said son before the death of his present wife it is
my will that she shall have only a lifetime in-
terest in said property, provided she remains a widow
and in the event of her again marrying all her
interest in said property is to cease
In the third place I will and bequeath to my grand
children, the children of my deceased daughter Rebecca
Pardee the South half of the plantation on which I
now reside - said half containing Two hundred and
Eighty eight acres of Land As the said Children
become of age it is my will that my Executor
appoint to each one his share of said land
In the fourth place I will and bequeath to my
James Croxton one half of my personal property of
every discription and to my said grand children the
remaining half
Reposing special confidence in my friends John
T. Miller and George W. Means I hereby constitute and
appoint them together with my son James Croxton the
the Executors of this my last Will and Testament and
hereby fully Empower them to act as said Executors
without being required to give any bond or security as
such I hereby further appoint and constitute James Crox-
-ton and John T. Miller the Guardians for my said
grand children with full power to act without being
required to give any bond & security
I hereby declare it to be my will that my son-in-law
