To All to whom these Presents shall come (Greeting) or may
concern: Greeting
Know Ye That we having examined the
Records and files in the Office of the Surrogate of the
County of Orange and said State do find there remain-
ing a certain Record of the Last Will and Testament and
probate thereof of David H. Roe deceased together with the
letters Testamentary granted thereon said Will having been
duly admitted to probate and record as a Will of Real
and personal property on the fourteenth day of December
in the year One thousand eight hundred and eighty and
the decree of the Court settling the accounts of said Exec-
utors in the words and figures following to wit
Be it remembered that heretofore, to wit, on the
6" day of December in the year one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty Charles P. Smith and William A. Lawrence
the executors named in the last Will and Testament of
David H. Roe late of the town of Chester in the County of
Orange, deceased, who died on the 29th day of November
1880 appeared in open Court before Henry A. Wadsworth
the Surrogate of the County of Orange and made appli-
cation to have the said last Will and Testament which
relates to both Real and personal estate proved and on
such application the Surrogate did ascertain by satis-
factory evidence, who were the widow, only heirs and
next of kin of said deceased and their respective places
of residence: and said Surrogate did thereupon issue
a citation directed to said widow, only heirs and next of
kin of said deceased, by their respective names before the
said Surrogate at his Office in village of Goshen in said
County on the 14" day of December then instant to
attend the probate of said Will
And, afterwards, to wit, on the said 14" day of De-
cember satisfactory evidence was adduced and presented to
the said Surrogate of the service of the said citation in
the mode prescribed by law, and some of them appearing
to be minors and on that day no one appearing to oppose
the probate of said will, such proceedings were thereupon had
afterwards That said surrogate took the proofs of said Will
herein after set forth and upon this said 14" day of
