} And now this Cause
coming on to be heard W.A. Hocker states
attorney prosecuting in the name of the state
Florida and the prisoner appearing in his own
proper person as well as by his attorneys Mess
Thrasher and McCall whereupon the prisoner was
arraigned and upon his arraignment saith he is
not guilty as the indictment alleges and for
good and evil he puts himself upon God and
the County for trial whereupon a Jury was
called and then Came D.H. Merchant,
S. Guthrie, James K. Leary, Benj Haile, W.O.
Colson, and R.H. Hawkins who were duly
sworn and empanelled to well and truly try
the issues joined and thereafter hearing a part of
the evidence and the state failing to make
out its case the Jury by order of the court
returned the following verdict to wit. We the
Deft not Guilty. W.O. Colson, Foreman

Whereupon the Court issued the following order
to wit.

Nov 18 1880 Alachua County
It becoming necessary to hold Court at Gainesville
Alachua County the Second Week of the Fall
Term of the Court it is ordered that 18 names
be drawn from the list of 300 - according to
law to serve as Petit Jurors for the 2nd week of
the Fall Term of Alachua County Court

Whereupon the Court ordered Thomas Harroll
to pay a fine of Five dollars and the cost
of an attachment issued against him
and that he stand committed until the
same is paid.
Whereupon the Court adjourned until 9 1/2 half
past nine oclock tomorrow morning.
