And now comes the Defendant and in open
Court files his bond in appeal in the Case
of M. Endel & Son vs. Josiah T. Walls to the Su-
preme Court of the State of Florida at the
January Term A.D. 1882

At a meeting of the Members of the Bar of
Alachua County Florida held on this day it was
Resolved, That although we the members of the
Bar of Alachua County deplore and regret the
illness of Hon James B. Dawkins Judge of the
5th Judicial Circuit of Florida which rendered
it necessary that anyone should be called upon to
perform his duties in holding this the June Term
of our Circuit Court, Yet we cannot allow the Hon-
orable James M. Baker who was assigned to
preside over our said Court to depart from our
midst without expressing our high appreciation
of his able and valuable Services to ourselves and
to our people in presiding over our term - and
we hereby tender to him our thanks for the great
patience and distinguished urbanity with which
he has so faithfully discharged the duties of so
