Whereupon the Court adjourned until Monday
morning at ten oclock-

The Court met pursuant to adjournment
his Honor James B. Dawkins Judge presi-
ding
Whereupon the Sheriff John W. Turner having
returned the Venire Facias for this the second
week of the Fall term of this Court as being
duly executed by sumoning the therein named
eighteen person excepting James Gates B.S.
Beasley, Joseph Lynn James Edmondson
Peter Bailey
Whereupon the Court for good and sufficient
cause excused B.B. Ewing, M.H. Everett, Thomas
McCone, G.S. Chamberlin Thos McCone from further
attendance on the Court
Whereupon
who had
been duly sumoned as Jurors failed to amswer

) and now this cause coming
on to be heard W.H. Hocker state attorney pros-
ecuting in the name of the State of Florida
and the prisoner appearing in his own proper
person as well as by his attorney Mss McCall
& Thrasher & Hampton. Whereupon the prisoner was
arraigned and upon his arraignment saith that
his is not guilty as the Indictment alleges and
for good and evil he puts himself upon God
and the Country. Whereupon a Jury was called and
there came T.N. Moss, D.M. Phifer W.E. Bevill, C.P. Evans
Thos S. Boulware who were well and truly sworn
and empanelled to try the issue joined |
