Spring Term A.D. 1883

At a regular
term of the Circuit Court of the 5th Judicial Circuit
of Florida in and for the County of Alachua for the
Spring Term A.D. 1883 begun and held in the Court
House at the City of Gainesville in Alachua
County Florida
The following proceedings were
begun and held to wit
At which was present
His Honor Thomas F. King Judge, William
A. Hocker, State attorney Samuel C. Tucker
Sheriff and J.A. Carlisle Clerk
Whereupon
the Sheriff Samuel C. Tucker having re-
turned the Venire Facias for the Grand Jury as
having been duly executed by Summoning each for
himself the following named persons to wit:
1 Frank G. Bauknight, 2. John C. Eastman 3 R.C.
Bradly, 4 J.W. Newberry 5 Jasper Kirtlin 6. R.G.H.
Law 7. B.F. Barker 8. J.R. Bevill - 9. W.W. Richardson
10 D.A. Moody 11 C.P. Evans 12. W.G. Robinson,
13 J.S. Dupuis 14. D.C. McIntosh, 15 John Cellon Jr. 16 C.A.W.
Thomas 17. and John F. Perry - and that C.A. Merry
was not to be found in the County
Whereupon
the Court for good and Sufficient Cause
excused Frank G. Bauknight J.W. Newberry -
R.G.H. Law D.C. McIntosh, And C.A.W. Thomas
from serving as Grand Jurors at this term
of this Court
Whereupon
there appearing to be a
deficiency of Grand Jurors in attendance upon
the Court the Court ordered that Seven names
be drawn from the list of three hundred -
Whereupon J.C. Gardner County Judge, Samuel C.
Tucker Sheriff and J.A. Carlisle Clerk in open
Court drew from the said list the following named
persons to wit: 1 H. Levy, 2 T.J. Freeze 3. Jerry Sherouse
4 A. McDavid 5 O.W. Sykes 6 B.M. Smith 7 and W.D.
Merrit
Whereupon
the Sheriff Samuel C. Tucker having
returned the venire facias for the Petit
Jury as having been duly executed by
