The Court met pursuant to adjournment of
yesterday His Honor Thomas F. King Judge
presiding -

Charles Williams } Roysden & McCall
And now this Cause
Coming on to be heard William A. Hocker States
attorney and Messers Finley & Hampton prosecuting
in the name and by the authority of the State of
Florida. And the prisoner Charles Williams appear-
ing in his own proper person as well as by his attor-
neys Messers Roysden & McCall. And now the prisoner
Charles Williams here being brought to the Bar here under
the Custody of Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of Alachua
County to which Sheriff he is also likewise Committed
and being forthwith demanded how he would acquit
himself of the charge against him saith that he is
not guilty as the Indictment alleges against him and
for good and evil he puts himself upon God and the
country for trial Whereupon a Jury was Called and
there Came 1 James K. Leary 2 W.M. Bradford 3
J.M. Dell 4 Wade A. Geiger 5 W.R. Rogers 6. T.H. Cato
7. Herman Glagouski 8 James D. George 9. Thos W. Dawkins
10. G.B. Townsend 11. F.W. Whitaker 12 W.B. Riviere
who were duly Sworn and empanelled to well and truly
try and true deliverance make between the State of
Florida and the prisoner at the bar according to the
evidence and thereafter after hearing the evidence and
a part of the argument
Whereupon the Court adjourned
until tomorrow morning at nine Oclock
