State of Florida } 
      vs         }  Murder &c
Turner Gray and  }
Peter Spann      }
                 } And now this Cause is
Continued

State of Florida }  Hocker
      vs         }  House breaking with intent to
D.C. Backus      }  Commit a Misdemeanor
                 } An Taylor & Sanchez
                 }  And now this Cause coming on
to be heard W.A. Hocker State attorney prosecuting
in the name and by the authority of the State of
Florida and the prisoner appearing in his own
proper person as well as by his attorneys Taylor &
Sanchez Saith that he is not guilty whereupon a
Jury was called and there came W.W. Carter
N.W. Malphurs, R.B. Smith - Daniel Chesser J.F.
Townsend and Wesley Blake who were duly Sworn
and empanelled to well and truly try the defense
pending and thereafter after hearing the evidence
and the argument of Counsel retired to Consider of
their verdict and thereafter on the same day returned
into open Court and rendered the following verdict
to wit: We the Jury find the prisoner not guilty

                                        Foreman

        vs       }  Wilfully shooting an animal
Primus Johnson   }  Finley & Hampton
                 And now this Cause coming on to be
heard W.A. Hocker prosecuting in the name and
by the authority of the State of Florida and the
prisoner appearing in his own proper person as
well as by his attorneys Finley & Hampton and now
the prisoner by way of plea saith that he is not
guilty Whereupon a Jury was called and there
came O.B. Bailey, G.W. Easterlin, Wm Stroble
W.W. Carter N.W. Malphurs, R.B. Smith who
were duly sworn to well and truly try the difference
pending and thereafter hearing the evidence
rendered the following verdict to wit We the
Jury find the prisoner Primus Johnson not
Guilty Aprl 30th A.D. 1883  W.W. Carter  foreman
