       vs        }  Motion for a New Trial

                 }  And now this cause
Coming on to be heard on a motion for a New
Trial and now the Prisoner being in open Court
as likewise the Counsel for the state as well as
for the Prisoner and now this motion having been
submitted to the Court after argument had therein
Whereupon said motion for a new Trial was
overruled and denied to which ruling the
said Defendant by his Counsel then and there
excepted

And now in open Court the Prisoner by
his Counsel and applies for and enters his appeal in
the words and figures to wit:

       vs           -  Indictment for Murder

                 Notice of appeal the Defendant Charles
Williams by McCall & Roysdon and Ashby & Thrasher his
attorneys now in open court applies for and enters his
appeal from the Judgment of the Court in over
ruling the defendants motion for new trial to the
Supreme Court of the State of Florida to be held
in the city of Tallahassee June term 1883

Whereupon the Prisoner applied for and was granted
(30) days in which to prepare a bill of exceptions
