Monday December 3rd 1883 -
At a regular term of the Circuit Court of the
5th Judicial Circuit in and for Alachua County
Florid for the Fall Term A.D. 1883 - begun and
Holden at the Court House in the City of
Gainesville in Alachua County Florida
The Following proceedings were begun and
held to wit:
At which was present his honor
Thomas F. King Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit
of Florida, William A. Hocker States Attorney -
for said Circuit, Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of
Alachua County and J.A. Carlisle Clerk
Whereupon
the Sheriff Samuel C. Tucker having returned
the Regular Venire facias for the Grand Jury
as having been duly executed by Summoning the
following named persons each for himself to wit:
1 M.J. Beckham 2. I.N. Wylie 3. L.N. Pearce 4. J.H. Jarvis
5. W.R. Mills - 6. S.J. Burnett, 7. S.W. Polk 8. J.J. Barr
9- M.H. Ormand 10- C.C. Morrison 11- Gehu Underwood
12. B.J. Mills - 13. H. Glagowski 14. John J. Stroud
15. T.J. May 16. B.W. Powell 17. J.F.P. Johnston
and that Isaac F. Aderholt was not to be found in
the County.
Whereupon
There came 1 M.J. Beckham 2. I.N. Wylie
3 L.N. Pearce 4. J.H. Jarvis 5. W.R. Mills 6. S.J. Burnett
7. S.W. Polk 8. J.J. Barr 9- M.H. Ormand 10. C.C. Morrison
11. Gehu Underwood 12. B.J. Mills 13. H. Glagowski 14. John
J. Stroud 15. T.J. May 16. B.W. Powell 17. J.F.P. Johnston
Whereupon
the Court for good and sufficient excuse
Excused B.J. Mills - John J. Stroud from further
attendance on this Court
Whereupon
it appearing to the Court that the panel
of the Grand Jury was not full the Court
issued the following order to wit:
There not being
a sufficient number of Grand Jurors in attendance
upon this term of the Court to complete the panel
and there being a deficiency of three Jurors the
Clerk is hereby ordered to issue a writ of Venire
facias directed to the Sheriff commanding him
to return forthwith from the bystanders in the County
