State of Florida }
vs } assault with intent to kill &
A.C. Johnson } Murder
} And now the Defendant
is called and failed to answer whereupon his
bond was estreated and the Bondsmen called
and commanded to bring the Body of the prisoner into
Court and scire facias ordered to show cause -
State of Florida }
vs } Breaking and entering a building
Smith Oliver } with intent to Commit Larceny
} and now this Cause coming
on to be heard W.A. Hocker State attorney prosecuting
in the name and by the authority of the State of
Florida and the prisoner as well as by his attorney Mess
Thrasher & Hampton and now the prisoner is
brought to the Bar here under the Custody of John
W. Turner Sheriff of Alachua County to which Sheriff
he is also likewise committed and being forthwith
demanded how he would acquit himself of the
Charges against him saith that he is not Guilty
as the Indictment alleges and for Good and evil
he puts himself upon God and the Country for trial
Whereupon a Jury was Called and there Came -
W.E. Bevill, Eli Futch - T.A. Moss - T.S. Boulware -
C.P. Evans - S.V. Gaskins - who were duly Sworn
and empanelled to well and truly try the dif-
ference pending and thereafter after hearing the evi
dence the argument of Counsel and the Charge of
the Court retired to Consider of their verdict
Whereupon the Court ordered the Jury to bring in
a sealed verdict should they agree upon a
verdict

vs } Maliciously injuring personal
William Lang } property
} And now this Cause coming
on to be heard W.A. Hocker State attorney
prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner
