Spring Term A.D. 1884
     Monday April 21st 1884
At a regular term of our Circuit Court for the
Spring Term A.D. 1884 begin and holden at
the Court House in the City of Gainesville in
and for the County of Alachua in the State of
Florida the following proceedings were begun
and had to wit:
At which was present His Honor Thomas
F. King Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit
Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of Alachua County
and J.A. Carlisle Clerk

Whereupon Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff having
returned the Venire Facias for the Grand Jury
for the Spring Term of our Circuit Court as
having been duly executed by summoning
1 G.S. Merchant 2. J.J. Jones 3. J.F. Donaldson 4 P.B.
H. Dudley 5. B.F. Parker 6. Joshua Hodge 7. C.C. Neal
8. Frank B. Dell 9. Z.T. Penland 10. W.C. Miller 11
J.E. Mathews 12 E.A. Adkins 13 D.A. Moody 14 W.C.
Hague 15 Isaac Guinn 16 G.A.M. Rains and 17
W.W. Redd and that J.G. Mathews was not
to be found in the County

Whereupon the Court for good and sufficient
cause shown excused P.B.H. Dudley, C.C. Neal
D.A. Moody and W.W. Redd from further attendance
on the Court
Whereupon the Court issued the following
order to wit:
             There appearing a deficiency of
five Grand Jurors at this term, it is ordered that
a Venire Facias be issued Commanding the Sheriff
of the County to summon & return forthwith 5 per-
sons to serve on the Grand Jury at this term of the
Court                            Thos F. King
                                       Judge
Whereupon the Clerk having issued the Venire
Facias as ordered by the Court the Sheriff Sam-
uel C. Tucker now returns the Same as being
duly executed by summoning S.G. Mathews,
J.H. Massey James M. Brown T.R. Bennett
and C.A. Sheldon
Whereupon the Court for good and sufficient
cause shown excused T.R. Bennett from further
attendance on the Court
