State of Florida } Hocker
vs } Entering a building in
Charles W. Weltz } the night time with intent
} to commit a felony
} S.Y. Finley appointed by
} the Court
}
} And now this Cause
coming on for trial. W.A. Hocker State
attorney prosecuting in the name and
by the authority of the State of Florida
and the prisoner appearing in his
own proper person as well as by
S.Y. Finley his attorney, Saith that for
good and evil he puts himself upon
God and the Country for trial whereupon
a Jury was called and there came
1 Benjamin Rush, 2 W.H. Bracey, 3 S.H.
Burnett 4. A.J. Shuford 5. B.P. Boulware
6. S.V. Gaskins, who were duly Sworn
and Empanelled to well and truly try
the difference pending between the State
of Florida and the prisoner at the
Bar, and thereafter after hearing the
evidence the argument of Counsel and
the Charge of the Court retired to con-
sider of their verdict and thereafter on
the same day returned into open Court
and rendered the following verdict
to wit: We the Jury find the prisoner
Guilty and recommend him to the Mercy
of the Court W.H. Bracey
May 12 - 1884. Foreman
Whereupon the prisoner was remanded to Jail
And now
Comes William A. Hocker and
by the leave of the Court presents
and his filed in open Court the following Information of
