Extra and Special Term A.D. 1884
         Thursday May 15th 1884
to the Court by argument whereupon the Court
having considered the said rendered his
decision thereon to wit that the said Motion
for a new trial be overruled to which said
ruling and order the Defendant then and
there excepted -
Whereupon the Defendant by his Counsel
gave notice in open Court orally that he
would appeal the said Cause to the Supreme
Court of the State of Florida
Whereupon
          the Defendant applied for and
was granted Thirty days in which to prepare
a bill of Exceptions

State of Florida }
         vs      }  Entering a building in the
Charles W. Weltz }  night time with intent to Commit a
                 }  Felony
                 }          Sentence
                 And now the Prisoner Charles
W. Weltz being in open Court for Sentence was
forth with demanded if he had any thing to say
why Sentence should not be pronounced upon him
Saith nothing
Whereupon the Court Sentenced the Prisoner Charles
W. Weltz to Confinement in the State Prison at
hard labor for the space of Five years

State of Florida }
         vs      }  Breaking and entering a building
George W. Sykes  }  in the night time with intent
                 }  to commit a misdemeanor
                             Sentence
                 And now the Prisoner George W.
Sykes being in open Court for sentence was
forthwith demanded if he had any thing to say
why sentence should not be passed upon him
Saith nothing
Whereupon the Court Sentenced the Prisoner
George W. Sykes to Confinement in the States
prison at hard labor for the space of One Year
