prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida - and the prisoner ap-
pearing in his own proper person as well
as by his Attorneys M.M. Lewey and Goss & Dunson
And now the prisoner being brought to the bar here
under the Custody of Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff
of Alachua County to which Sheriff he is also
likewise committed and being now forthwith de-
manded how he would acquit himself of the
Charge against him saith that he is not Guilty
as the Indictment against him alleges and for
good and evil he puts himself upon God and
the Country for trial whereupon a Jury was Called
and there came, Chas A. Colclough = Elam Evans,
Frank Cassels, Owen W. Sykes, Geo M. Colman
Jno T. Woods who were duly Sworn and empan-
nelled to well and truly try the issue between the State
of Florida and the defendant according to the evidence
and the Jury aforesaid
after hearing the evidence the argument
of Counsel and the Charge of the Court
