Spring Term A.D. 1885
Thursday May 14th 1885
Whereupon a Jury was called and there came Simeon
Fagan Isaac Mizell, J.S. Crown Jr J.F. Futch W.H.H.H. Holdridge
and L.W. Fennell who were duly sworn and empanelled
to well and truly try the difference pending and thereafter
after hearing the evidence the argument of Counsel
and the Charge of the Court retired to consider
of their verdict and thereafter on the same day
returned into open Court and rendered the
following verdict to wit: We the Jury find the
Defendant Guilty Isaac Mizelle Foreman
State of Florida }

William Hoffman }
And now the prisoner
William Hoffman being in open Court for
sentence was demanded of if he had any
thing to say why sentence should not be passed
upon him saith nothing, whereupon the Court
sentenced the prisoner to confinement in the
County Jail at hard labor for the space of
Three months

And now this Cause
Coming on to be heard and the parties plaintiff
and Defendant appearing in open Court by their
respective attorneys and now the issues being
joined a Jury was called and there came
E.K. Fagan, W.B. Hodgson, J.B. Dill, and now
the venire being exhausted there came from the
bystanders B.W. Waits, C.F. Jolly- and Chas J.
Mixson who were duly Sworn and empanelled
to well and truly try the issues joined and there-
after after hearing a part of the evidence
