Fall Term  A.D. 1885
      Monday December 7th 1885

State of Florida }
        vs       }  Breaking and entering a building in the
Sam Ingram       }  day time or dwelling house with intent
                 }  to commit a misdemeanor
                       And now this cause coming on to
be heard W.A. Hocker State attorney prosecuting in the
named and by the authority of the state of Florida and
the prisoner being in open Court in his own proper person
as well as by his atty W.W. Hampton - and now the pris-
oner being demanded how he would acquit himself
of the Charge against him Saith that he is not
guilty as the Indictment against him alleges
Whereupon a Jury was Called and there came
L.C. Ellis - M.M. May, Robert Kite D.R. Fletcher
R.M. Davis W.H.H. Folk who were duly Sworn and
empanelled to well and truly try the difference
pending and thereafter after hearing the evidence
the argument of Counsel and the Charge of the
Court retired to consider of their verdict
and thereafter on the Same day returned into open
Court and rendered the following verdict to wit:
We the Jury find the prisoner guilty So Say we all
L.C. Ellis  Foreman
Nov 7th 1885
Whereupon the Court sentenced the prisoner
Sam Ingram to confinement in the states
Prison at hard labor for the Space of Six (6)
months

State of Florida }
       vs        }  Assault with intent to Murder
William Smith    }
                     And now this Cause coming on
to be heard W.A. Hocker State attorney prosecuting

Taylor - and now the prisoner being demanded how he
would acquit himself - Saith that he is not

came, John F. Donaldson, J.M. Dell, W.H.H. Folk
Wm Ellis - Roth Reynolds, Jas A. Shannon
who were duly Sworn and empanelled to well and
