State of Florida           }  Hocker
         vs                }  Breaking and entering a dwelling house with
Caledonia Smith Jim Mickle }  intent to commit a felony
and Alfred Dansey          }
                            And Now this cause coming on to be heard
William A. Hocker State Attorney prosecuting in the name and by
authority of the State of Florida and the Prisoners appearing into open
Court in their own proper persons as well as by their Attorneys Messers
Finley Thrasher and Cone whereupon the prisoners being demand how
they would acquit themselves of the charge against them saith
that they are not Guilty of the Charge as the Indictment Alleges against
them and or good and evil put themselves upon God and the Country
for trial Whereupon a Jury was Called and there came S.B. Stephens
J.M. Croxton W.D. Seigler and  B.J. Mills and W.J. Knight whereupon the Venire
being Exhausted the Court ordered Samuel C. Tucker Sheriff of Alachua
county to Summon from the body of the County to fill the Jury and there came
W.M. Knox who were well and duly sworn and empanelled to try the
difference pending between the State of Florida and Caledonia Smith
Jim Mickle and Alfred Dansey and thereafter after hearing the
vidence the argument of Counsel and the charge of the Court retired
to consider of their verdict and thereafter on the same day returned into
open Court and rendered the following verdict to wit:
  We the Jury find the prisoners Guilty
                               James Croxton
                                 Foreman

Whereupon the Court adjourned until half past Eight (8 1/2)
Oclock tomorrow morning
