      Spring Term AD 1886
             Friday May 14th 1886
     Whereupon the prisoner was discharged from custody

     State of Florida      }Hocker
#9         vs              }Assault with intent to Murder
     Joe Irvin Alice Irvin }Taylor & Sanchez
     Zack Taylor           }
                            And now this cause coming on to
     be heard W.A. Hocker state attorney prosecuting in
     the name and by the authority of the State of Florida
     and the prisoners appearing in open court in their
     own proper person as well as by their attorneys Mess
     Taylor & Sanchez and now the prisoners being demanded
     how they would acquit themselves of the charge
     against them saith that they are not guilty as the
     indictment alleges and for good not evil they put
     themselves upon God and the county for trial
     Whereupon a jury now called and there came
     J.H. Dampier, M.G. McCarroll, D.A. Miller, S.B. Stephens
     H.A. Varnum, W.H. Baltzell who now duly sworn
     and empanelled to well and truly try the difference
     pending and thereafter hearing a part of the
     evidence

     Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow morning @ half past
     Eight o'clock
           Spring Term  AD 1886 Saturday May 15th 1886
     The Court met pursuant to adjournment his Honor Thos
     F. King  Judge presiding

     State of Florida                     } Hocker
           vs                             } Assault with intent to Murder
     Joe Irvin Alice Irving & Zack Taylor } Taylor & Sanchez
                                           And now the prisoners being in open
     court as well as the counsel both for the state as well as the prisoners
     whereupon the Jury who had been duly sworn and empanelled
     on Yesterday in this cause to wit J.H. Dampier M.G. McCarroll D.A. Miller
     S.B. Stephens H.A. Varnum and W.H. Baltzell being now in open Court the
     hearing of this cause is resumed and thereafter after hearing the
     balance of the evidence the argument of counsel and the charge
     of the court retired to consider of their verdict and thereafter on
     the same day returned into open Court and rendered the following
     verdict to wit We the Jury find the Prisoners not Guilty
     May 15th 1886                    M.G. McCarroll
