And now on this day this cause came
on to be heard William H. Wigg State attorney prosecu-
ting in the name and by the authority of the State of Florida
and the prisoner appearing in his own proper person
as well as by his attorneys Hampton & Hampton whereupon
a Jury was called and there came George Easterlin
E.T. Hawthorn James Chesnut T.A. Carroll, Burrel
Wiggins J.R. Faircloth, C.B. Turner, H.N. Richard
James S. Hague W.M. Know H.L. Bevill S.L. Blanton
who were duly Sworn and empanelled to well and truly try the difference pending
and thereafter after hearing the evidence the argument
of Counsel and the Charge of the Court retired to con-
sider of their verdict and thereafter on the Same day
returned into open Court and rendered the following
verdict to wit: We the Jury find the prisoner Guilty
and recommend him to the Mercy of the Court
