Fall Term A.D. 1886
Saturday December 11th 1886 -
proper person as well as by Chas L. Fildes his atty and
being now demanded how he would acquit himself of
the charge against him saith that he is not guilty
as the Indictment alleges against him Whereupon
a Jury was called and there came E.T. Hawthorn
B. Wiggins H.N. Richard, James S. Hague W.M. Knox
D.G. Dinkins who were duly sworn and empanelled
to well and truly try the difference pending and
thereafter after hearing the evidence the argument
of Counsel and the Charge of the Court retired
to consider of their verdict and thereafter on the
same day returned into open Court and rendered
the following verdict to wit: We the Jury find the
prisoner Guilty E.T. Hathorn

And now this Cause came on
to be heard on a motion for a New trial and
now said motion having been submitted to the
Court and the Court being advised of its
opinion overruled said motion for a New Trial

And now the Prisoner Henry
Hooey being in open Court for sentence was
demanded if he had any thing to say why Sen-
tence should not be passed upon him saith
nothing, Whereupon the Court sentenced the
Prisoner Henry Hooey to confinement at hard
labor in the States Prison for the space of
his life - without solitary confinement

was demanded if he had any to say why sentence
