And now this Cause
Came on to be heard William H. Wigg State
attorney prosecuting in the name and by the
authority of the State of Florida and the
prisoner appearing in open Court in his own
proper person as well as by O.A. Myers his
attorney and now the prisoner being forthwith
demanded how he would acquit himself of
the Charge against him saith that he is not
guilty as the Indictment alleges against
him and for good and evil he puts himself
upon God and the Country for trial whereon a
Jury was called and there came J.S. Spears
W.H. Hagan Dote Weeks T.J. May W.H. Thompson
H.C. Beckham who were duly Sworn and em-
paneled to well and truly try the difference pen-
ding and thereafter after hearing the evidence the
argument of Counsel and the Charge of the
Court retired to consider of their verdict
and thereafter on the Same day returned
into open Court and rendered the following
verdict to wit: We the Jury find the prisoner
