Stephen Williams }
} And now the prisoner Stephen
Williams being in open Court for sentence was
demanded if he had any thing to say why sen-
tence should not be passed upon him Saith
nothing, Whereupon the Court sentenced the
prisoner Stephen Williams to Confinement in the
States Prison at hard labor for the Space of
One Year

June Davis } and about his person = Thrasher
And now this Cause came on
to be heard William H. Wigg States attorney prose-
cuting in the name and by the authority of the
State of Florida and the prisoner appearing in
open Court in his own proper person as well as
by his attorney B.A. Thrasher and now the prisoner
being forthwith demanded how he would acquit him-
self of the Charge against him saith that he is
not guilty as the Indictment alleges against him
and for good and evil he puts himself upon God
and the Country for trial Whereupon a Jury was Called
and there came H.C. Richardson, J.J. Tillis J.C. Bell
J.L. Spears, W.H. Hagan Dote Weeks who were duly
Sworn and empanelled to well and truly try the
difference pending and thereafter after hearing the
evidence the argument of Counsel and the Charge of
the Court retired to consider of their Verdict and
thereafter on the same day returned into open
Court and rendered the following verdict to wit:
We the Jury find the prisoner guilty
