Spring Term A.D. 1887
     Monday May 16th 1887 -
attorney prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner Joe Hills
appearing in open Court in his own proper person
And now the prisoner being demanded how he would
acquit himself of the Charge against him saith
that he is guilty as the Indictment alleges against
him

State of Florida }
   vs     No 1   }  Sentence
Joe Hills        }
                  And now the prisoner Joe
Hills being in open Court for sentence was
demanded if he had anything to say why
Sentence should not be passed upon him
saith nothing, Whereupon the Court sentenced
the prisoner to confinement in the States
prison at hard labor for the space of One Year

State of Florida  }
      vs     No 2 }  Sentence
Joe Hills         } And now on this day the
                  prisoner Joe Hills being
in open Court for sentence was forthwith
demanded if he had anything to say
why sentence should not be passed upon
him saith nothing Whereupon the Court
Sentenced the prisoner to Confinement in
the States Prison at hard labor for the space
of one year - This sentence to go into effect 
at the expiration of a former sentence of
this date.

Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow
morning at nine oclock -
