And now this cause came on to
be heard W.H. Wigg State atty prosecuting in the
name and by the authority of the State of Florida
and the prisoner appearing in open Court in his own
proper person as well as by W.E.W. Dewson his atty
And now the prisoner being demanded how he would
acquit himself of the Charge against him saith
that he is not guilty as the Indictment alleges
against him and for good and evil he puts him-
sef upon God and the Country for trial Whereupon
a Jury was called and then came W.S. Land
W.B. Patterson, Leroy N. Pearce Frank X. Miller
M.A. Densler and T.M. Cauthen who were
duly Sworn and empanelled to well and truly
try the Difference pending and thereafter after
hearing the evidence and the argument of
Counsel and the Charge of the Court retired
to consider of their verdict and thereafter on
the same day returned into open Court and
rendered the following verdict to wit: We the
Jury find the Defendant not guilty

the Court adjourned until tomorrow morning
